The Octagon Theatre is a Bolton institution and sits at the heart of the town and community. As the theatre embarked on a new era we were asked to give the theatre a new identity for its grand reopening.

It was important that the Octagon’s new identity communicated how engaging, entertaining and down to earth the theatre really is. By combining a vibrant colour palette and diverse shapes with messaging that is bold and straight to the point, we landed on something that felt like a true reflection of the theatre, its patrons and the town.

With longevity in mind, the new brand was created to be flexible across multiple marketing materials and channels. To ensure consistency across all formats large and small, a comprehensive brand toolkit was created for the Octagon team to use going forward.

As the Octagon Theatre was a completely new building, way-finding was an opportunity to extend the brand across all floors, doors and walls of this amazing new space.
